Abstract Introduction The estimated shortage of about 15 million health and social care professionals, including over 6 nurses, together with the significant phenomenon international migration such emerged, during COVID-19, even more evidence. During pandemic danger a collapse systems in many areas due to staff was manifest. In addition this, low-income countries are witnessing decrease their workforce resulting further inability ensure essential levels professional coverage deal populations' needs. Methods An integrative review analysis, 4 languages (English, Italian, Spanish, French) trend terms legislation policy documents were conducted using database gray literature. 29 different document include this review. Results A number initiatives have been developed order establish and/or bilateral obligations among countries; however, showed be insufficient. There is therefore need set up joint effort/actions stakeholders as Government, Higher Education institution, International Labor market actors, NGOs field migration, labor training professionals better meet needs worldwide. Conclusions It timely develop specific actions aimed at setting passport for which allows guarantee prior certification accreditation skills by independent agencies; should work improve retention job. Moreover, every effort done enhance younger generation interest carrier, opportunity really makes difference other lives play an active role development society. Key messages Without there no health.
